New Delhi: ‘Hera Feri”s OG Trikadi – Raju, Shyam, and Babura Ganpato Apte, aka Babu Bhia – have now been loved by fans around the world for more than two decades.
When Paresh Rawal, who played the role of the prestigious Baburao Gunpatrao Apte in the film, recently confirmed that he would not be a part of ‘Hera Far 3’, the fans were not just heartbreaking. Rawal’s sudden exit from the popular franchise was also a major setback for actor Sunil Shetty, who collected calm and Shyam in classic comedy.
Talking to Annie, Sunil expressed his “shock” when Rawal exit. He said that after hearing the news, he was released “completely heartbroken”.
“I mean, this is a complete shock for me, and I am here because I heard it yesterday, and then today, some more news came. So, I need to call and find out, and I am completely heartbroken because if there was a film, which I was looking forward, it was a manipulation, you know, you know,” Shetty said.
Sunil also clarified that he feels that the third installment cannot be done without ‘Babu Bhia’.
He said, “This cannot happen. Paresh Rawal cannot be 100 percent without Rawal. There can be 1 percent chance without me and Akshay, but 100% cannot be without Paresh ji. No, it’s not. It’s not. Raju and Shyam, if they do not have a hammer by Babu here, it does not work,” he said.

Last week, Rawal posted a note on X (East Twitter) to confirm that he would not be part of the third installment and clarify that his exhaust was not due to any creative disagreement.
He said, “I want to put it on record that my decision to move away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences,” he wrote on X, “I repeat that there is no creative disagreement with the filmmaker. I have a lot of love, respect and faith in the film’s director Mr. Priyadarshan,” The director of the film, ”

Directed by Priyadarshan, ‘Hera Pheri’ was released in 2000. It included Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Tabu in the lead roles. The second part, which came out in 2006, was directed by the late Neeraj Vora. It featured Akshay, Paresh, Sunil, Bipasha Basu, Rajpal Yadav and Rimi Sen in the lead roles.
