Abdul Rashid Khan was a highly respected police officer who took over as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the state of Indore during the British Raj, a rank considered the highest position to be given to Indian officials at that time. He started his service as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) before getting up on the post of excavation. His contribution made him a government-bungalow bungalow in Mandleshwar, about 50 km from Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh, where he resided from 1942 to 1948.
Talking about his remarkable achievements, Abdul Rashid Khan was awarded the “Difper Jung”, a prestigious title “Difper Jung” by the Holkar Kingdom of Indore for his extraordinary bravery and service.
