Hyderabad: Opal Suchata of Thailand, who was crowned Miss World 2025 at a grand ceremony held in Hyderabad, Telangana, shared her feelings after winning the title.

The 72nd edition of the Global Beauty pageant was a star-staded event and another proud moment for Thailand, as it was the country’s first Miss World Crown.

Talking to Annie after his victory, Opal expressed a mixture of happiness and mistrust, calling this moment “real”. She was overwhelmed by emotion, especially because her country waited for more than seven decades for this achievement.

“I was very excited, especially when they were announced by all girls and their placements, and when I was announced the winner, I still could not believe it. I was very confused because it was very unreal, because my people and I was waiting for the first crown of Miss World for more than 72 years. I was not able to bring back my home. …, “Suchta told Annie.

She also exposed her ongoing commitment to her ‘beauty with beauty’.

“I would prefer to continue my purpose, which is breast cancer. I am happy that being here in Miss World, many people know more about my beauty with a purpose project and the reason is more aware that I am installing. I am confident that with Miss World Title, in future, I can definitely have more impacts and also help other projects that are needed,”.

While reflecting his victory, he said, “Now, I would like to define Miss World as my success because I just got it, and this is the highest and most respectable success in my life so far. But if I can define another way of success. I would say that I am better to live my life and to make a life which is better for people around you.”

While Thailand rejoices in Opal’s crown, India’s expectations were razed as Nandini Gupta, representatives of the country, failed to make it in the top 8 finalists.

The announcement came through the official Instagram page of Miss World.

Nandini made it to the top 40 after a standout performance in the earlier era, where she was one of the 18 contestants who ‘rapidly track’ in this prestigious category.

However, as the competition proceeded, she could not make it for the final cut.
