This happens when he goes into nature, spends time alone, records sounds from the environment, and realizing “the insignificance of existence in the large plan of things”. The idea has inspired Christo’s latest single, ‘Aspirin’.
“I composed this track in 2021 and wondering if we should make a music video. Since I wanted to shoot it, I waited and saved the money. And we finally excluded it,” Kristo called from Kochi.

The video is directed by filmmaker Ramith Kunhimangalam, who is an assistant director MadnolsavamChristo’s first project as a music director. “I have often seen him holding the moments very beautifully. You can see that his scene is a life. When I mentioned this track, we wanted to make something original, without any reference.”

The video characterized by Christo and Mathele was shot in Munnar in three days. The video depicts the hill station which reflects Christo’s vision on life.
‘Aspirin’ belongs to the line-up of tracks to show Christo’s love for electronic elements in its music. “Even in a romantic song, I try to bring into electronic elements without losing the soul of the song,” Kristo says. “I am inspired by artists like John Lennon and the way they distribute their lines, like a poem. My purpose was to create a poem with electronic music as a medium.”
The composer uses a modular synthesis unlike a traditional synthesizer for the track, which offers the user to choose components within it. “We do not use modular synt in Malayalam. I wanted to show that it is not only for foreign musicians; we can also make music with it.”
Christo explains, “The voice of the bird in the song was pre-ridded and mixed with the sounds of nature. I also considered Vocals as instruments, for example, initially there is a high-picked part that was recorded as Vocals and later processed for sound like a device. Brahmagam. The composer admitted that he calls or calls a recorder to catch any sound that he is on a break. “The person you see in the video, who am I.”

“I have a background in Karnataka music and this has helped me. I started as a singer and then I realized that I liked to compose more than singing. Even though I studied classical music, I always listened to coldplay, Linkin Park, Skreelex, Michael Jackson and so on.”
Christo is currently working on a Telugu film and Rahul Sadashivan’s much-awaited Pranav Mohanlal-Movi, Dies IraHe says, “I am not going to say anything about it right now. Just watch the film, this is an interesting project.”
