Seeing the myth and beyond its margin

The love story of Parathi with theater began at the age of 10 with its first school audition. “I was easily ready for theater; it was not a square or discipline, my parents flew on me – perhaps that’s why I was able to investigate it for my heart content, called the artist,” who started training in classical dances and voices at the age of six. “I can still remember the surprise that I felt on the change that came out on stage.”

“My tenure in Adishthi opened new ideas to prepare a piece of performance with my entire body language responding to my training in Khudyattam, Kattikkatu and other art forms.”

“If I did not do this, I will not be able to do justice to this role because Shurpanakha was a free-elevated, forest resident. My experiences in life are very different and limited to the language of a classical body,” she says.

To redefine the character, Parshati researched to find only minimum references on Malayalam and Kannada literature. “Nevertheless, protesting traditions like Khudyattam used to expand the life of Shurpanakha in an entire episode.”

Parshathi along with Kittikutu with Kattikukutu and Hen M Day Bruin with Parshee Nangiyar. He learned to play the role of The Muguhu (a collision instrument) with Kalamandalam Rajeevan and Harihar Gupatan. “Its sound played an important role in the performance, which almost guessed as another character”. Additionally, he learned the song Oppari and play alien with Gangai Master and Manimaran.
