Government of Karnataka. Planning of annual art competition for students, general public in Bengaluru

The state government is planning to organize art competitions for school and college students in Bangalore, besides the general public, apart from the general public, every year in three days, and ₹ 25 crore will be kept separate for it, Vice President DK Shivkumar announced.

Speaking at an event organized to inaugurate the renovated Venkatappa Art Gallery on Thursday, he said that the officials would come up with a plan to organize the annual program, possibly in the last week of December when there will be a holiday string. He sought suggestions from the artist community to design the incident in a meaningful way.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Jaishankar, Executive Chairman of Brigade Group and Lifetime Trustee of Brigade Foundation, said that the importance of well -designed places for art in urban settings cannot be reduced.

According to him, although the initial budget for restoration was ₹ 5 crore, this work went up to ₹ 10 crore by the end of the work.

The renovated art gallery has now been transferred to government officials to officially maintain. He said, “It is now up to the Bengalurians and the government to ensure that the gallery flourishes,” he said, while the government requested the government to take the name of one of the galleries after the Brigade group.
