VR in Anna Nagar echoed with music and Salangai’s sounds during the Atrium ‘Proposha Arpana’ of Chennai, which was an incident cured by Lasya Dance Academy, Bengaluru.

Anchored around the legend of Pradoshum, when Shiva drank deadly poison and danced to restore the cosmic balance, the evening came in front of a royal 10-but Nandi.

The evening included Bangalore -based young Bharatanatyam artist Nithyashree, who presented three pieces, which he performed more as a offer. He started with “Proposha Samayi”, which was set for Raga Purvikalini and Adi Tala, which was made for a fitting call. The dance, composed by Padma Charan and choreographed by Gowri Sagar, developed the severity of the dancing, when Shiva dances in response to the prayers of the gods. The difference between Ganesh’s drums and the rhythm of Shiva’s cosmic dance was expressed through confidence -filled footwork and anpt actress.

The second item ‘Thilai Ambalam Shabdam’, brought a change in the tone. This ragamalika piece, which is set in the Tala, discovered the emotional arc of a pious woman for Nataraja, the lord of Chidambaram. Shabdam, composed by Tajavur Arunachalam Pillai, gave Nithishree an opportunity to fly into the leveled feelings of the Virahotakandhita heroine (one of the eight types of heroines in classical dance, the Asik heroine, who is suffering from the victims of separation).

The last piece, a Shiva Padam, was a crescent in every sense. Bala Subramanya Sharma with music. Composed by Gurumurthy, choreography celebrated Shiva as an incarnation of five elements, intake vowels and Omkara.

Between the vigorous festivals and the delicate Lasya, the transition of Nithishree reflected the duality of Shiva and Shakti’s union, Ardhishnwara.

Proposha Arpana was not just a Bharatanatyam, but to reconstruct a public place for cultural memory – reminds you that even among the most urban settings, spirituality can be applied through dance.
