Farhan Akhtar celebrated 21 -year -old Laxman, calls a story about the purpose of finding it.

Mumbai: Actor-Filmekar Farhan Akhtar took a moment to celebrate a major milestone as “Laxman” completed 21 years after his release under his direction. Marking the opportunity on social media, Akhtar reflected on the permanent impact of the film, calling it a “a story about the purpose”. Released in 2004, the upcoming age drama starring Hrithik Roshan has placed a special place in Indian cinema for its powerful story and inspirational message.

On Wednesday, Farhan Akhtar took on his Instagram handle and shared a video compiling memorable moments from the film, captioning: “A step of a story about the purpose, celebrating a step at a time. He also tagged the actors of the film in his post, accepting his contribution to “Laxman “‘s memorable visit. Released in 2004, Laxman-“Purpose”-A powerful-coming war drama, which marked the venture under the second direction of Farhan Akhtar.


Written by producer Ritesh Sidhwani and written by veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar, the film brought together an influential actors including Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan. Inspired by a conversation with Indian Army officials and 1999 Kargil War veterans, Javed Akhtar prepared a compelling story focused on a directionless young Karan Shergill of a privileged Delhi background.

As the story comes out, Karan converts into a courageous soldier, discovers both his identity and purpose on the battlefield. The film remains a famous depiction of individual development, national pride and the spirit of armed forces. Apart from this, the film was released on 18 June 2004 by Boman Irani, Om Puri, Lilate Dubey, Kushal Punjabi, Sharad Kapoor, Sushant Singh and Parmeet Sethi.

Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar is ready for the release of his upcoming action drama “120 Bahadur”, which pays tribute to the soldiers of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, PVC and Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment.

Against the backdrop of the 1962 Indo-Sino War, the film takes inspiration from the mythological battle of the film Rejung La, where unique bravery and sacrifice acts made their place in history. “120 brave” is slate to hit theaters on 21 November 2025.
