New Delhi: Actor and football enthusiastic John Abraham, along with Mandar Tamhane, CEO of Northeast United FC, called the minister of communication and development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M Scindia here to Sanchher Bhavan here.
The meeting exploits the immense sports capacity of the Northeast and the ability to nurture football talent from the region. Emphasizing the priority of the Modi government of youth empowerment through sports, Scindia confirmed the ministry’s commitment to convert the North into a rich center for sports excellence.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Scindia is actively trying to invest the Northeast in the development of the Northeast as the next sports powerhouse of India, identify talent and create institutional support for young athletes across the region.

One of the eight high-level work forces constituted by the Ministry focuses on a particular game, and the governor of Manipur Amit Kumar Bhalla is presided over. Minister Scindia recently attended a major meeting of the Task Force in Manipur, which was held in the presence of Chief Ministers and Senior Officers participating in the North Eastern states to carry forward an integrated regional sports development strategy as per the press release.
