Sitare land across advance booking: Aamir Khan is set to return with ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’, which is set to release in theaters this Friday. It marks their return to the silver screen after a gap of three years. While his last two outings – ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ and ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ – failed to create a commercially, ‘Sitare land crosses the land’ weighs the expectations, especially because it is seen as the spiritual successor of his 2007 classic ‘Tare Zameen Paar’.

Advance booking for the film was closed for a dull start. East-Buy window was opened only late Tuesday night, due to delay in certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) 48 hours before its release. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film managed to run for more than ₹ 1 crore in the sales of advance tickets for a day as Thursday morning – a figure that is surprisingly low for the film titled Aamir Khan.
To keep things in perspective, ‘Lal Singh Chafdha’ – which was released three years ago and was widely considered a delay at the box office – ₹ 5.52 crore registered in advance sales. At this rate, the ‘Sitare land cross’ is unlikely to match even the benchmark, until a strong final-mint is pushed.

Sitare Zamin Para lagged behind other big release
So far, several other major major have surpassed the 2025 release in terms of ‘Sitare Zamin Paar’ advance ticket sales. Films like ‘Jat’ () 2.37 crore) and ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ () 1.84 crore) are already ahead. And while Aamir’s film can eventually cross them, it is unlikely to go close to the advance number of ‘Sikander’ (₹ 10.09 crore) or ‘Housefull 5’ (₹ 8.02 crore). The fact is that it still raises concerns for the initial performance of the film like ‘Kesari Chapter 2’ and ‘Lal Singh Chadadah’ at the box office.

The day of the film’s day-a performance is also cautious. While some reports suggest is an opening in the ₹ 10–11 crore range, business sources portray a more conservative picture. According to Hindustan Times, the film can open domestic level in the net range of 5-6 crores.
If they keep the guess correct, ‘Sitare Zamin Paar’ will gather only half of Lal Singh Chafdha and only half of 11.70 crores – a great comparison, even while looking at that film, it was also reduced.
Everyone’s eyes on the words of the mouth
There is still some cautious optimism in the industry. Business expert Atul Mohan told Hindustan Times, “Except for Aamir Khan’s films, Hindostan and Dho 3 thugs, is known as a slow opener, and then it is produced on the word of the mouth. And both of them were large -scale films, which are not equal to Sitar land. So, I can still do good work even after a slow start.
The reactions of the initial audience will be important – especially through the first weekend – in determining whether the film can overcome its slow start. A poor opening can create a serious challenge in achieving speed.
