New Delhi: Mirzapur, extraction, and Bhavesh Joshi is actor Priyashu Penayuli, who is known for his standout performance in Superhero, is stepping back of the camera with the first beginning of his direction.

Located in the mysterious mountains of Priyansu’s home state of Uttarakhand, the film tradition, is a hearty and culturally rich story contained in spirituality and self-consciousness.

After being trained in filmmaking in Bangalore, Priyashu has long nurtured a passion to tell the story. With Jaggar, he returns to the land that shaped him, designing a story that is deeply and universally resonant.

Jagger plot

The film follows Deepti, standing at the crossroads of a woman marriage and self-interview. She travels to Uttarakhand to document the ancient ritual of Jaggar Puja. A filmmaker begins as an attempt to catch a sacred tradition, soon turns into a journey of spiritual awakening.

Through Deepti’s lens, we meet a local woman Gita, whose divine property during the ritual helps to rise above the trauma of an abusive marriage. Over time, the energy of the land and its forgotten spiritual forces force Deepti to face their identity and truth.

“Jagger is a passion in the most difficult sense – to get out of love, trust and tireless commitment,” Priyashu says. “This is even more special because it marks our own company, a dream Vandana and I have made it together. It is not just my film – it comes under all of us who have put our hearts in it. From Vandana to our families, and members of each team who believed in the story and soul of every team that used to believe in the story and soul. This film is a shared dream, a collective heartbeat, and for an examination.”

State support

Connecting the importance of the film, the Uttarakhand government has increased its full support, recognizing Jogar’s spiritual prosperity and the state’s ability to highlight the breathtaking beauty. With cinematography developed by Hemant Kumar, the film shows the low-looking scenario in the Garhwal region, which captures the essence of the holy city and its permanent traditions.

The artists include several local actors from Uttarakhand as well as Vandana Joshi, Sarika Singh, Rishi Solanki, and Priyeshu Penayuli.

“Uttarakhand is the place where I come – its mountains, stories and traditions live within me,” Priyashu shared. “Jagger is a film that I have kept in my heart for years. I knew that if I have ever directed a feature, it is something personal and inherent. I am excited, nervous, but mostly thankful to be able to tell this story.”

Judra is more than just one film – it is a land, a culture and a reflection of a timeless journey to re -discovering himself.
