New Delhi: Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s Magnum Ops – Ramayana has been postponed as the biggest Indian film ever. Reason? It is a budget, large -scale star cast and world -class VFX technology. The first 3-minute long glimpse was unveiled earlier this month-the expectations from this two-part cinematic glory are nothing short of sky-high.
India’s most expensive film
In his recent interview, producer Namit Malhotra revealed that the actual budget cost is not less than Rs 4000 crore – larger than many Hollywood classics like Avatar and Avengers.
Speaking at Prakhar Gupta Xperience Podcast, Namit said, “When we set it to make it, 6-7 years ago, when we actually become serious about growing it, everyone calls me a lunatic, because no Indian film comes close to the budget. It will not be about $ 500 million for that time, which is done with both films – part 1 and part 2.
He said, “We are making the world the world’s biggest film for the biggest story that the world should watch.
Interestingly, Avatar was made a budget of $ 237 million, while the Avengers film cost more than $ 300 million. The cost of the third and fourth Avengers Films – Infinity War and Endgame – is more than $ 700 million simultaneously according to the Hindustan Times report.
