Vicky Kaushals Father Sham Kaushal revealed that he thought of suicide after the diagnosis of cancer: wanted to jump from the third floor

New Delhi: Vicky Kaushal’s father and veteran stunt director Sham Kaushal recently opened a deep emotional and weak phase in his life, when he had suicidal views after the diagnosis of cancer.

In a clear conversation on a podcast with Aman Aujla, Sham recalled that during the shooting of the film Laxman in Ladakh, he suddenly experienced severe stomach pain and was taken to an army hospital. Initially a regular issue was believed to have some more severe cancer.

He shared that after a three -hour surgery to overcome a suspicious increase from his stomach, doctors informed him that the situation was important, and he was not sure he would live. It was after receiving the news that there were suicidal views in Sham, overwhelmed by fear and uncertainty.

“They informed me in the evening, and at night, I had this wild idea about jumping from the third floor of the hospital, where my room was located. I did not get the decision out of weakness, but thought that when I had to die anyway, why not now?

The experienced action director also revealed that at that moment, he hoped that he would get only 10 more years to live.

“After that night, something changed. I crossed the fear of death. The next morning, I received the hope that it is just a matter of surgery, and I will be alright. That incident changed my entire view on life and strengthened my will.”

Sham revealed that during a year, he performed several surgery and tests but remained strong. Thankfully, the cancer had not spread. He credits that difficult phase to shape his personal and professional journey.

He said, “I asked God to bless me with 10 more years, and today it is 22 years old. I met good people, got good work, my children have done well in life,” he said.
