‘The Pickup’ Movie Review: AD Murphy and Pete Davidson’s action-comedy needs less chaos and more laughter

The capacity is very high when you keep a friend comedy, a heest, some high-speed chase sequence, and of course comedic superstar Eddie Murphy together. And prime video Pick up Starts strong, seeing Comedy Goldmine, they are potentially on their hands.

An armored truck driver and guard, Travis Stall (Pete Davidson), run in a bank in a beautiful woman (KK Palmer). After a place of confusion, which involves holding it out of his gun and inadvertently holding the bank hostage, they make a conversation soon. The date of a dinner and a romantic weekend follow, and the Travis can simply not believe his luck (if you consider the string of Pete Davidson’s high-profile romance). On his next work shift, he is combined with Russell Pierce (Eddie Murphy), who is an experienced truck driver, who is a Grampi, he has very little time for nuances or disability, and just wants to return home on time to celebrate his wedding anniversary.

Things clearly do not run according to the plan. A regular cache begins as pick-up days that soon transform into something outside the normal. Travis and Russell are soon being followed by a three -member gang on the highway which is a blind place for communication; They are unable to call for help or are unable to tell anyone about their prediction. This is the time for Russell’s experience and focus, and the killer driving skills and antics of Travis have to be kept for good use.

When it starts, it begins well. The base here is very good, and you are ready for one hour chase with a generous dose of laughter. But the pair fighting our crime defeated the gang and are surprisingly skilled with fixing the bottled tires of their truck, things become chaotic-on the road and with writing.

What can be a simple and highly fun film, now a big successor, the villain who suddenly stops disabled and decides to take the menting route, and a very wrong story for one of the major characters. Laughter goes away some more, and the plot becomes unnecessarily firm. While Pete Davidson is well cast as a screw up and bumbling loafer, you cannot help, but roll your eyes on it like Eddie Murphy’s Russell did it after the jokes were uninterested.

A clearly cannot help, but remember how Eddie Murphy is Beverly Hills Cop The films redefined the big action-comedy style; That spark, unfortunately, is missing here, given that both actors have very little material to work. Meanwhile, KK Palmer gets a better-written role, while Eva Longoria is the best as Russell’s wife who is given to her.

On paper, Pick up There is a lot for this. A road-journey, friend action-comedy? This is a style that we do not have enough, and there is something that will do very well on OTT to watch lazy TV. Looking at its capacity and crisp runtime, Pick up Could be done with greater brightness, and laughs.
