Rajinikanth’s Cool Gates becomes green light for special shows in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday allowed Sun Pictures, the producer of “Coolie” starring superstar Rajinikanth to conduct special screening across the state on the day of the film’s inauguration.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraja, the much awaited action drama will be released worldwide on Thursday.

Sun Pictures had earlier presented a formal request to the state government to demand approval for special shows on the first day of release.

On Tuesday, the government accepted the proposal, allowing theaters to start screening from 9 am on August 14.

As per the official order, the cinema hall will be allowed to run a maximum of five shows of “Cool” between 9 am on Thursday and 2 pm on Friday.

The step comes in response to the huge demand for tickets, with business analysts predicting a record-breaking box office collection for the initial weekends.

The government has directed the theater owners and multiplex operators to take adequate protection measures to prevent congestion.

Officials have advised the cinema complexes to manage the queues efficiently, ensure smooth ticket checking, and deploy additional security to handle the expected crowd.

The “Coolie” brings a dress artists together with Rajinikanth, including veteran actor Satyaraj, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna, Malayalam actor Saubin Shahir, Kannada Star Upendra, Bollywood icon Aamir Khan and Shruti Hansan.

The film is expected to blend high-octane action with Lokesh Kanagarj’s trademark storytelling style, making it one of the most awaited Tamil release of the year.

The technical crew consists of acclaimed cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, editor Philomin Raj and music composer Anirudh Ravichender, who has earlier given a blockbuster soundtrack for Rajinikanth films.

The industry buzz shows that songs and background scores will play an important role in increasing the collective appeal of the film.

Given Rajinikanth’s large -scale fan Aadhaar and the recent track record of Lokesh Kanagaraja’s hits, advance booking for “Cool” has already seen heavy reactions in many cities.

Many single-screen theaters and multiplexes are reportedly sold for the first day, while fan clubs are organizing ceremonies, including morning shows, cut-outs and cultural events.

With government approval for special shows, “Cool” is determined for a grand release, which is another milestone in Rajinikanth’s career.
