Internationally acclaimed Shillong Chamber Choir (SCC) has released a new track, ‘You Come in Hour Lives’, a hearty reflection on love, friendship and transformative power of music. The song is a tribute to Uncle Neel’s friends and family, with his friend, Deelip Kumar Sahu, the founder and mentor of the song players, written by Neel Nongakenari. His 55th birth anniversary (July 9), which shows his intense influence on the life of the song singers.
“I had almost forgotten this song for a day, a song played us reminded us. After listening to it again, we felt that it was to be shared with all our listeners. It’s a thank you, the celebration of love, gratitude and firm bonding that keeps us together, said” Banam Lindam, Bas of the Choir said. The video of Saath is a beautiful view of Uncle Neel’s permanent appearance – a glimpse of the funded moments.
Established by musician, conductor and pianoist Neel Nongkeni in 2001, SCC began under his mentarship as a small group of dedicated singers and dreamers. In the last two decades, the dress has developed in one of the famous music groups in India, combining rich harmony, emotional depth and technical talent. The journey of the winner of Got Talent in India, 2010, has been marked by a wire of national and international appreciation since then.

Famous for his unique mixture, his list of performances includes Opera to Rock, Lok to Jazz, Hindustani classical to current chart toppers, along with Alan Walker, Boney M, Amitabh Bachchan and Ostad Zakir Hussain.
Neel Nongkinari passed away in 2022, but his vision and artistry remain in the heart of music. “More than just focusing on the voice, he worked on the person. Perhaps that’s why, about two decades later, we are still here – singing together,” shared by Tanner William Basiavomite.

With the passing of the mentor, the song players continue to work on various projects – from their normal medal to the original, Khasi in Khasi (the original language of Meghalaya) to Opera, ‘Sohilinagam’, which is composed by Neil. “We also have many unpublished songs on the shelf. Three music videos of our music videos of Bollywood Medley are being released on various social media platforms in various styles in August, September and October.”
