Mumbai: Amrut Fadnavis, wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, hosted a beach clean-up drive in Juhu Beach Post at the ceremony of Ganpati Venjarajan on Sunday.
Amruta Fadnavis, along with Brihanamm Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), hosted a clean-up drive between his Foundation, Divas Foundation. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar also participated in it.
In the scenes, Akshay Kumar was seen cleaning the Juhu beach by putting a garland of giant flowers in a bag along with bottles, dirty clothes and other junk.

BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani also participated in a clean-up drive on Sunday.
Speaking to ANI, Amrut Fadnavis said, “We have organized a beach cleaning on Juhu Beach today. We are very happy with the participation of people from all areas of life in this clean-up drive. Many organizations helped us in this initiative, because it is our responsibility that we keep the beach clean.
Sending a message to the youth, Amruta said, “I just want to tell the youth that there is only one earth. Its growth and nutrition is our responsibility and no foreigner will come down to do so for us. We have to do it ourselves.”
Divija Fadnavis, daughter of Devendra Fadnavis, also participated in a cleanup drive. Describing his experience, Divija called for environmentally friendly Ganesh idols.
“I really liked that I have been allowed to come and clean our beautiful beach. I saw that small pieces of Paris plaster are left from the idol of Lord Ganesha. I was very sad to see it. That is why I want to say, please take an eco-friendly Ganesh because our God should not be angry like this.”
A cleanup drive was organized on Saturday after Lord Ganesh Idol immersion.
The 10-day ceremony for Ganesh Chaturthi began on 27 August. This festival marks the worship of Lord Ganesha, which is distinguished as the god of the new beginning and removes obstacles.
The festival concludes the 10th day, which is marked by lively processions, music, prayers and other ceremonies. Devotees participated in the last day of grand festival in all major cities including Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Hyderabad.
