Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan expressed his solidarity and concern for the people in North India as Musuls monsoon rains and severe floods have affected many areas of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttarakhand.
In the latest episode of Bigg Boss 19, Salman informed the contestants about the ongoing flood situation. He highlighted a serious situation and a large number of people who have lost their livelihood.
“Do you know what is happening in Uttarakhand, in Himachal, and now in Punjab? Floods after floods, landslides after landslides-everywhere there is chaos. The status of our farmers, those who grow food for us, they have become disastrous. They are left to eat without living in homes,” Salman said.

Salman urged everyone to move forward and help the affected people. He emphasized how the people of Punjab have always been at the forefront of serving others, and said that it is now time for everyone to stand with them and expand support.
Apart from this, the actor also accepted the contribution of Punjabi artists and assured that along with the efforts of support, they were also running from their side.
“This community is known for its generosity, for its anchor (community kitchen), for social service, for selflessness. For hundreds of years, they have been feeding people, even if they came to their anchor.

Meanwhile, in response to the gravity of flood situation in Punjab, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is about to visit the flood -affected Gurdaspur district on 9 September, as was declared by the Punjab BJP on Sunday.
During his visit, PM Modi is expected to review rescue and relief operations and meet with flood -affected families.
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that about 2,000 villages and more than four lakh people have been affected by the floods.
He said that 24 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and two teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed, supported by 144 boats and a state government helicopter.
Cheema further stated that the state’s revenue department has released Rs 71 crore towards relief efforts.
