New Delhi: Famous Assamese singer Zubeen Garg died at the age of 52 after a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore. Widely considered Assam’s most popular musicians, Garg was observed not only for his singing but also for his work as a lyricist, actor and musician in many languages.

His income sections included music sales, live concerts, film projects and brand endorsments.


Zubeen Garg’s net worth

According to Pratidin time, the net value of Garg in 2024 was estimated to be around $ 8 million (about ₹ 70 crore). He had a collection of luxury vehicles including a BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz, Range Rover Velar and a custom coating with a Isuju SUV. A fond Chawla biker, he was often seen riding premium motorcycles.

Zubeen Garg dies

According to ANI, the Northeast India Festival issued a statement that confirmed that Garg developed the difficulties of making severe breathing while diving scuba. The statement said, “He was immediately given a CPR before going to the General Hospital in Singapore. Despite his efforts to save him, he was declared dead at the ICU around 2:30 pm.”

The singer was in Singapore to attend the North East Festival and was about to perform later that day. His sudden demise has left fans, supporters and Assamese community in shock and sorrow worldwide.

Expressing deep sorrow, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Today Assam has lost one of his favorite sons. I am a disadvantage to words what Zubine means for Assam. He has gone very early; It would not have a unmatched capacity to instigate our mind. The stallwarts of the Assam, and their work will inspire many more talented artists in the coming years.”

Assam’s cabinet minister Ashok Singhal also shared his grief on X, writing, “Our beloved Zubeen Garg’s untimely death was deeply saddened. Assam has not only lost a voice, but a heartbeat. Zubin da was more than a singer;

Who was Zubine Garg?

Zubeen Garg started singing in a three -year tender age and released his first album Anamika in 1992. Some of his most popular Assamese albums include Maya, Jubeiner Anthem, Zabada, Pakhi, Sheshu and Junji.

Beyond Assam, he left his mark in Bollywood with songs for films like Dil Se, Vaistava, Vasa, Fiza, Ashoka, Kate, Gangster, and Krrish 3. 2006 hit YA Ali: A Love Story: Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranat, and Sithif, National Fame, Ness from the film Gangster.
