According to Drink Almanac, Shardia Navratri is one of the most important Hindu festivals, which is celebrated twice a year with Chatra Navratri. In 2025, Shardia Navratri will begin on September 22, 2025, and end on 2 October 2025.
Interestingly, this year’s Navratri Drick will last for 11 days instead of 9. Since the Pitu Paksha will be reduced by one day, the extra day has been added to Navratri, making the festival long and more special.

How Shardia Navratri is celebrated
During Navratri, devotees honored Maya Durga and her nine forms with rituals, prayers and fasting. The celebrations begin with the Ghatasthapana (Kalash Stopana) on Pratipada, followed by the daily priests of the Navdurgas.
Devotees follow the fasts, chant Durga mantras, and recite Durga Saptashati or other scriptures.
Each day is dedicated to a specific goddess and color, with dressing according to devotees.
Rituals include Aarti, Sandhi Puja on Ashtami, Prasad of Fruit and Sweet and Ayuh Puja on Navami.
Cultural highlights such as Garba and Dandiya Nights add happiness and community spirit to ceremonies.
This festival ends with Vijayadashami, which symbolizes the victory of good over evil, and immersion of the idol of Mother Durga in water.
