Popular chef-cum actor ‘Madhampatati’ t. Rangraj has filed a civic suit before the Madras High Court to stop costume designer Joy Cryzilda from making any form of media against him wrong, malicious and defamation statements as they disarm their personality rights.
Justice N. on Wednesday (September 24, 2025). Placed before Senthilkumar, senior advocate Srinath Sridevan said that the new suit filed by Mr. Rangraj in his personal capacity, besides already filed by his catering company, was already counted, but was not yet listed in front of the court.
In the suit, the record was filed through his lawyer on Vijayan Subramanian, Mr. Rangraj demanded to stop Ms. Crisilda, who claim to marry, write, printing, publication, broadcasting, distribution, posting, posting, circulating or defamation content against them.

He insisted that he should stop posting video, reel, photos, captions or any other type of audio visual content, which can directly or indirectly can discredit his character, personal life, professional standing and prestige in hospitality as well as discredit the entertainment industry.
Along with the main suit, the plaintiff, also filed an application, who was demanding an interim direction to Ms. Krizilda to remove/remove the defamation content posted against her on 26 July, 30 August and 30 August 2025 and to handle her name and handle with all her social media posts.
Saying that he listens to the suit and when he is listed, on Wednesday (September 24, 2025), Justice Senthilkumar reserved his orders on an application filed by Madhamattti Thangvelu Hospitality Private Limited, which prevents the ‘Sadbhavana and Detauts “of Maidapatis’ Maidapatis’.
Orders were reserved after listening to senior lawyers PS Raman and S. Prabakaran for the catering company and costume designers respectively. The company filed an affidavit stating that it suffered a loss of more than 12 crores due to the Madamapatti hashtag used by it to dislike social media posts.
When the judge wanted to know how the company could claim to lose a contract of only ₹ 12 crore due to the hashtag used by the costume designer, Mr. Raman said, there was no other reason. He said, all those customers had canceled their contracts only after their social media posts.
However, Mr. Prabakaran challenged the company to prove that the contracts were canceled only because of his customer. He said, “I am fighting for justice and in my womb for an unborn child. I have filed a criminal complaint against Mr. Rangraj. This suit has only been filed to give a commercial color to a criminal case,” he said.
