October 2025 is ready to delight the skywatchrs with an astronomical treatment: a rare harvest supermoon pursued closely by two meteor rains – drachonids and orianids.
Although the bright supermoon may oversee draonids in early October, patience will be rewarded, as the Orionids expect to come to the peak later in the month, which produces more meteors per hour. This makes a particularly exciting month for the enthusiasts of astronomy on October.
By adding enthusiasm, the night of the International Moon is inspected on 4 October – a global phenomenon where the moon lover binoculars, or simply come out with their eyes, praise the Earth’s only natural satellite.

When is the full moon in October 2025?
The full crop Moon will illuminate the night sky on Monday, October 6, 2025. The entire moon of this month is also a supermoon, which means that the moon will be slightly close to the Earth, bright and larger.

Why is it called Harvest Moon?
The crop Moon is the nearest full moon to the autumn aspect. While this usually occurs in September, it turns in October every few years. Traditionally, it provided additional evening lights to farmers during the crop season.

October harvest moon as a supermoon
The entire moon of this October is also a supermoon, the first of the year. A supermoon occurs when the moon is in its perimeter – its nearest approach to the Earth in the orbit. On 6 October, the moon will be about 224,107 miles away, making it 14% larger and 30% bright than the unconscious moon of the year.
While the difference in size may not be dramatic for naked eyes, supermoon may affect tide, which produces a high-normal water level.
