Thiruvananthapuram: Malayalam actor Mohanlal, who has recently been awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his prestigious contribution to cinema, was honored by the Kerala government for his achievement at the ‘Malayalam Vanolam Lalsalam’ program in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.
The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, presented the actor with a quotation written by the poet Prabha Verma on behalf of the Kerala government at the ‘Malayalam Vanolam Lalsalam’ program.

After accepting the honor from the Kerala government, the ‘Dravim’ actor became emotional remembering the early years of his life when he “dreams of making films”.

Addressing the gathering, Mohanlal said, “I am indebted to Dadasaheb Phalke. I stand with more emotional weight from here with more emotional weight because I got the award because I got the prize, the Thiruvananthapuram is my hometown, the place where I was born and raised. When I think back in the early days, when I do not think about the cinema.
The actor thanked his colleagues for supporting him in his difficult times, stating that “someone always lifted him” when he faced difficulties in life.
Mohanlal said, “Whenever I was about to drown, someone always raised me. The form of every art has evolved over time, and it is through this development that I have completed this journey,” Mohanlal said.
CM Pinarayi Vijayan also paid tribute to the actor for his achievements in Indian cinema. He called it a “moment of pride” for himself to honor the Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner in Thiruvananthapuram today.
Taking his X handle, CM Pinarayi Vijayan wrote, “Some artists have captured the hearts of Malayalis worldwide.
South Superstar Mohanlal was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award by President Droopadi Murmu at the 71st National Awards ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on 23 September.
The actor received a permanent ovation from the people present in the Vigo Bhawan as he accepted the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Mohanlal’s wife, Suchitra Mohanlal was also present at the ceremony. She appeared emotional after the actor was called on stage to gather the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
On the work front, the actor is currently working on the third installment of his popular film franchise ‘Dravim’.
