Purnima is considered one of the most sacred days to perform various religious and spiritual practices. The full moon falling in the month of Ashwina is celebrated as Sharad Purnima on the day of intensive spiritual importance. While there are 12 Purnimas in a year, some – such as Sharad Purnima, Kartik Purnima, and Jyestha Purnima – according to extraordinary religious significance.
Kojgiri is also known as Purnima, this day is closely associated with Lord Vishnu and Moon God, both are worshiped by devotees with deep devotion and reverence. On this auspicious occasion, devotees inspect Satyanarayana fast and pray to Shri Hari Vishnu, ask for their blessings to fulfill prosperity, peace and desires. Sharad Purnima 2025: Why is it celebrated?
According to Hindu scriptures, on this holy night, Lord Krishna performed a traditional folk dance, a traditional folk dance with Radha and Gopis on the banks of river Yamuna. As a result, this day holds special significance for the worship of both Radha and Lord Krishna.

Sharad Purnima 2025: Pooja Ritual
1. As soon as you get up, take a holy bath.
2. Place an idol of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi or Shri Yantra on a wooden plank. During the day, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi should be prayed.
3. On Sharad Purnima, Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha are considered meritorious by offering prayers.
4. It is considered satisfactory to bathe the idols of Lord Krishna and the idols of Goddess Radha.
5. Offer Panchamrit and sweets to a lamp with desi ghee and the Lord.
6. On this day, chant the mantras dedicated to Chandra Dev, recite Vishnu Sahasranam and Shri Hari Stotram.
7. Light lamp outside the house in the evening.
8. It is considered auspicious to make kheer and introduce the Lord and Moon.
