Chennai: The makers of director Selvamani Selvaraj’s much-awaited period drama, ‘Kantha’, starring actor Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role, on Monday announced that the film will now release on screens worldwide on November 14.
Actor Dulquer Salmaan, who plays the lead role in the film, took to his social media timeline to make the announcement. He wrote, “Diwali just got even bigger! #Kantha will light up theaters across the globe from 14th November! Happy Diwali to all of you and we’ll see you in theaters very soon. A @thespiritmedia and @dqswayfarerfilms production.”
For those unaware, the film was originally scheduled to hit the screens on September 12. However, the team decided to postpone the release of the film. Now it is going to be released on 14th November.

The makers of Kantha released a teaser some time ago, which has created huge excitement among fans and film lovers. The teaser has increased the expectations from the film.
The teaser starts with an announcer saying that the film ‘Saantha’ being produced by Modern Studios will be the first horror film in Tamil cinema. After this, the film is shown being made in the teaser. Ayya ​​(Samuthirakani) is the writer and director of the film and Dulquer Salmaan is the hero of the film. It is clear that both the director and the hero of the film are now at odds with each other and are no longer on talking terms. While Ayya wants a scene in which a character named Chandran gets scared after seeing a spirit named Neeli to be shot first, Dulquer wants another happy scene to be shot first.
