Hyderabad: Ace director SS Rajamouli on Friday released the first look of actor Prithviraj in his much-awaited magnum opus ‘Globe Trotter’ starring Telugu star Mahesh Babu in the lead role, saying it was creatively very satisfying for him to bring to life “this fearsome, ruthless, powerful rival Kumbha”.

Prithviraj is seen playing the role of a specially abled person in the film and is seen sitting on a wheel chair with robotic arms and legs.

It can be recalled that director Rajamouli had announced back in August that he would start revealing details of the project in November.
Rajamouli had said in his post in August this year, “Dear cinema lovers from India and around the world, as well as Mahesh fans, it has been a while since we started shooting, and we appreciate your curiosity to know about the film.
“However, the story and scope of this film is so vast that I feel photos or press conferences alone cannot do it justice. We are currently working on something to showcase the substance, depth, and comprehensive world we are creating. It will be unveiled in November 2025, and we are trying to reveal it as never before. Thank you all for your patience.”

As promised then, the makers have now started revealing details. This film has been in the news in recent times for many reasons.
One of them is that actor Mahesh Babu will be seen performing all the stunts himself in the film without the help of a body double. The news is that the actor will not choose a body double while performing stunts in this film.
Secondly, 95 percent of the African scenes in the film were shot in Kenya. This was disclosed by Kenya’s Principal Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Overseas Affairs, Musalia W Mudavadi.
Third, SS Rajamouli has chosen to work with a different cinematographer for this film instead of his favorite cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar.
A major part of SSMB29, which is being made on a huge budget, was shot in Odisha. Apart from Mahesh Babu, the film also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. An action adventure film with some degree of history and mythology, it is expected to be released in 2027.
