Blake Lively has claimed that she has suffered huge losses in the smear campaign launched against her by Justin Baldoni over the film It Ends with Us.
A few days ago, it was reported that a $400 million extortion and defamation lawsuit filed by director and actor Justin Baldoni against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds has been officially dismissed after he failed to meet a court-set deadline to amend his claims. Now new reports say that the actor has suffered significant financial losses as a result of the ongoing legal battle. As the actor prepares to go to trial against co-star and director Justin Baldoni and others next March, he’s also hoping to name some of his high-profile friends to support him.
The list includes names like Taylor Swift, Emily Blunt, Scooter Braun, Hugh Jackman, Gigi Hadid, Ari Emanuel, Sony Pictures president Tony Vinciquerra and Sony film head Tom Rothman.
The loss that Blake suffered
As for the damages Blake suffered, reports state that in his lawsuit, which was first filed on December 31, 2024, the actor’s lawyers said his damages were just over $75,000. “But in a disclosure statement given to the defense in July, and made public on Wednesday, he argued that he has suffered at least $161 million in actual damages. His lawyers will seek at least three times that amount in punitive damages,” it read.
Justin initially filed the high-profile lawsuit in January 2025, calling it a “retaliation” in one of Hollywood’s most controversial legal confrontations.
The move comes a month after Blake sued Justin and Wayfarer Studios, accusing her of sexual harassment and retaliation on the set of his film It Ends with Us, which Justin directed and co-starred in.
