Responding to the allegations, Vikram Bhatt said that the police is being misled.

“I came to know today that an FIR has been lodged. I think it came on a TV channel in Rajasthan that an FIR has been lodged against me. And then a journalist friend of mine sent me an FIR. So I read the entire FIR. Now, to be honest, I think the Rajasthan Police is being misled. As far as my question is concerned, I don’t know. I have been told that first there is the NC.

I haven’t found anything like that. So at first, I thought it would be NC. But now I have come to know that it is an FIR,” Bhatt told ANI.

“So I neither have any letter, nor any notice, nor anything. And they say that for the greed of Rs. 200 crores, I committed a scam of Rs. 30 crores. If they have told this to the police, then they must have some documents, some paperwork. Otherwise, the police does not work like this. So if it is so, then it is fake. It cannot be so.”

Bhatt questioned the claims, saying, “I have read in the FIR, they have written that they are not from this industry, and they do not know the working of the industry. So, I want to ask: If this is the case, then why did they start so many films, leaving me alone?”

“They are doing a lot of films. So I think the budget I gave them, I used to shoot my films on green screen. They wanted me to do it for real. So the budget would increase. We had gone to Udaipur for the premiere of the film ‘Tumko Meri Kasam’ and it was a Sunday and the film was released on Friday. Then I came to know that their IPO was coming, and under their IPO, you cannot release this film because it is for personal promotion. And it’s against SEBI rules, so they went ahead with their IPO.”

The filmmaker denied any wrongdoing, saying, “After that, we were making a film ‘Virat’. ‘Virat’ was doing well. Now if I have fooled you, why are you making a third film with me? And this ‘Virat’ film, they stopped it midway. And I suspect they stopped it, because they had applied for the IPO again. And I think they did not want to be associated with the film industry. But the thing is that They didn’t pay my workers. And I think they didn’t want to be associated with the film industry. And I’m telling you all this, I have it in the contract.”

He said, “I don’t speak in front of anyone. I have been in the industry for so many years. I have had conflicts of interest with people. I have had many good and bad relationships. But this has never happened. I don’t understand what it means.”

He said, “I will see what it is. First of all, we will ask them for proof that you have filed this FIR.”

Vikram Bhatt entered the film industry as an assistant to director Mukul Anand in his debut film ‘Kaanoon Kya Karega’. He was 14 years old at that time. Bhatt later directed several notable films, including ‘Ghulam’ starring Aamir Khan, which was a box-office success.

In 2008, Vikram Bhatt returned to the horror genre and delivered successful films like 1920, Shaapit and Haunted – 3D.
