‘Nithari: Truth, Lies and Murder’: 2006 Noida Horror Reopening When and where to watch the new docu-series?

Mumbai: Bringing to light the horrific details of the Nithari murder case that shook the nation in 2005-06, Warner Bros. Discovery and Trinetra are revisiting the case with the upcoming docu-series, ‘Nithari: Truth, Lies and Murder’.

The show premiered in the wake of the Supreme Court verdict which had overturned the last remaining conviction of Surinder Koli, an alleged accused in the 2006 Nithari serial murder case.

Presenting a gripping three-hour investigative documentary on one of India’s most horrific real-life crimes, ‘Nithari: Truth, Lies and Murder’ also features the second alleged accused, Moninder Singh Pandher, on camera for the first time, presenting his version of the incident.

These episodes will continue to linger in the minds of investigators, journalists, forensic experts and the grieving families who have been living with unanswered questions for nearly 20 years. Plus, with never-before-seen footage, access to unedited police diaries and confession tapes, and Pandher’s first-hand on-screen account, the documentary challenges everything we thought we knew about the case.

It will facilitate audiences’ reconstruction of events to shed light again on the systemic failures that allowed the horrors to be ostensibly hidden, and uncover a story of power, indifference and truth buried beneath official narratives.

Speaking on the show, director Deepak Chaturvedi revealed how he invested years in meticulous research, access to previously unseen material and conversations with people living through this tragedy.

According to a press release, he said, “Recent developments and Supreme Court decisions have made telling the story all the more urgent. This series is not about retelling a horror story; it is about context, accountability and truth. By bringing together evidence, expert insight and lived experience, we have sought to separate fact from speculation and retell Nithari’s story with clarity and compassion.”

Premiering on Discovery+ on Thursday, November 20, the series revisits the haunting questions that still linger. What really happened in that quiet area of Noida in 2006? Were the two men, once sentenced to death and now both free, the true criminals, or scapegoats in a much darker conspiracy?

Sai Abhishek, Head of Factual Entertainment, Lifestyle & Kids – South Asia, Warner Bros. Discovery, said, “The Nithari case is such a story: volatile, complex and steeped in still-unanswered questions. The recent Supreme Court decision only serves to underline how relevant this case is. What really sets this project apart is the unprecedented access it has to voices like Moninder Singh Pandher, giving us an insight into India’s most complex crime. “Allows new evidence and perspective to re-examine one of the findings.”

‘Nithari: Truth, Lies & Murder’ premieres on November 20, 2025 on Discovery+.
