Zootopia 2 breaks box office records
Zootopia 2 grossed $156 million domestically and $400 million internationally in five days during the extended Thanksgiving weekend. It is the fourth-highest global opening of all time, the biggest global opening of 2025, and the biggest global animated film opening of all time.
Meanwhile, its dominance at the Chinese box office is also historic. It is now the highest-grossing animated foreign film in China. reuters Zootopia 2 was reported to have grossed 1.95 billion yuan ($275.6 million) at the Chinese box office in its first six days of release. It now ranks as the second-highest foreign-language film opening of all time in China, behind only Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame, which was released in 2019.
About Zootopia 2
Animated buddy cop comedy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is the sequel to Zootopia (2016), and is directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard. Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman and Ke Hui Kwan are the actors who voiced the characters in the animated film. The film follows the previous film’s protagonists Judy Hopes and Nick Wilde, who pursue Zootopia’s new and mysterious reptilian resident, Gary D’Snake.
