British actor Dev Patel was recently seen in a train going from Delhi to Agra. The actor is in India to shoot his next film.
British actor Dev Patel is currently in India, apparently shooting for his upcoming directorial venture The Peasant, based on medieval India. A fan shared a picture of the actor with his entourage boarding the Vande Bharat train from Delhi to Agra. Interestingly, the fan claimed that Dev tried to hide his identity when contacted.
Dev Patel was seen in the train going to Agra
On Friday, a social media user shared a picture of Dev on Reddit. The caption reads, “Saw Dev Patel and crew at Vande Bharat today.” The picture shows Dev wearing a white shirt with a blue jacket, standing next to a crew member on the train. “I was on Vande Bharat from Delhi to Agra today, saw Dev Patel and crew,” the poster’s description of the photo read.
The poster adds that, comically enough, when contacted Dev tried to deny that it was him. “I went up to him to ask him if he was here to shoot a film, but when I asked him, “Hey, are you Dev Patel?” He clearly said “Mmm no”, it was too much fun hahaha.” Many others laughed at the Slumdog Millionaire and Monkey Man actor’s efforts to remain secret in India. “It would be funny if OP went up to some random person and asked if they were Dev Patel,” one said, laughing. However, others rejected such notions. “He is also accompanied by his friend Raghuveer Joshi,” argued one.
Many wondered if the actor was in India for his film The Peasant. “Do you know if it’s for “The Peasant”? Looking forward to their next film after Monkey Man, though worried about whether they can do justice to portraying 14th century India with the many empires active at that time like the Delhi Sultanate and the Vijayanagara Empire,” asked one.
Dev Patel’s film career
Indian-born British actor Dev rose to fame at the age of 18 with Danny Boyle’s Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. Since then he has worked in films such as The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Man Who Knew Infinity, Lion and Hotel Mumbai. He turned director with the 2024 film Monkey Man.
