Hours before the finale premiered, Ross Duffer wrote a touching Instagram post to recount his 10-year journey.

“Watched the finale a few weeks ago with the cast in NYC for press. It was an emotional and cathartic experience for all of us. Walking around afterward, I looked at all of these incredible cast members — laughing, crying, supporting each other — and felt so lucky that we’ve been so close, so bonded, for these ten years. By the time we’ve finished telling this story, we’ve now become family forever.
