Jan Nayagan U/A certificate delay: Gautami Tadimalla clarifies, not part of CBFC…

Chennai: After a fan asked her why there was a delay in issuing a U/A certificate to actor Vijay’s last film ‘Jana Nayagan’, actress Gautami Tadimalla has now clarified that she was not a part of the censor board and she should address her queries, if any, to the concerned ministry.

On Saturday, as soon as the makers of director H Vinoth’s ‘Jana Nayakan’ released the trailer of the film, rumors spread on social media that though Censor Board officials had watched the film ‘Jana Nayakan’ several days ago and recommended a U/A certificate for it, the makers are yet to receive the censor certificate.

A fan tweeted to actress Gautami, who was previously on the Censor Board, saying, “You are on the Censor Board committee and please explain why there is so much delay in issuing UA certificate for Jananayagan?” The fan also posted a response given by AI app Grok, which said, “Yes, actress Gautami Tadimalla is a member of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC)…”

Responding to the fan’s tweet, actress Gautami wrote, “I am also wondering why I am being mentioned in this context. I am not part of the CBFC and have not been asked to head any viewing committee to certify any film after October 2023. I have not received any request for participation in any context of any film. If you have any questions, you should address them to the concerned ministry. And thank you for letting me know that my The name is still being used in this manner. Best wishes to ‘Jannayagan’ for a successful release.”

For those unaware, director H Vinoth’s upcoming action entertainer ‘Jana Nayakan’, starring Vijay in the lead role, has created huge expectations as it will be the lead actor’s last film.

Expectations from the film increased after the makers released the trailer on Saturday.

The trailer released starts with a notorious thug asking another thug on the phone about a person named Thalapathy Vetri Kondan. The other person immediately asks in a worried tone, “Hope you haven’t tried your tricks on him as you might have heard about many killers but have you heard of anyone making records? He is ‘Thalapathy’ for you. Don’t touch him. He will cut you.”

We are then shown a series of action sequences in the film. A small child then appears asking Vijay, “You destroyed the entire battalion. Are you Superman?” He replies, “I’m a simple guy baby but I’ve heard people say that everything I do is great.”

The trailer also shows Mamita Baiju playing the character of Vijay’s daughter Viji. “Girls shouldn’t be afraid. They should be like lionesses,” he says, while he tries to get them to sign a form to join the army. We then see scenes of Viji being in fear and pain and Thalapathi starts searching for the person who dared to disturb him.

The trailer also features Bobby Deol as the villain, who believes that he will be able to put India on its feet in 30 days. We find out that he has a plan called Om, which basically aims for destruction.

In the trailer, Vijay is shown giving many strong political statements. There is a dialogue in it in which the actor is seen saying, “Whoever tells me, ‘I will close your chapter’, ‘I will defame you’, I have no intention of turning back.”

The trailer ends with a scene in which he lashes out at politicians, saying, “Instead of entering politics to serve the people selflessly, you enter politics to loot and kill innocent people.”

The film, which has generated huge interest, is scheduled to release on screens worldwide on January 9 this year.
