How was the cast?
sunny deol Anchors the film with conviction. While his performance occasionally veers into over-the-top territory, it largely works for a film driven by patriotic fervor and forceful dialogues. His training sequences with three young soldiers are particularly impressive. Dialogues like “We fight not for kings or leaders, but for our brothers” help drive the story forward.
Varun Dhawan, As for Smart, it’s a pleasant surprise. His action sequences are powerful and his Haryanvi accent sounds quite impressive. He fits into the story without overpowering it.
Diljit Dosanjh The first half clearly emerges as the crowd favourite. With his commanding screen presence, heroic aura and timely humour, he brings both charm and emotional depth. His lighter moments provide relief in an otherwise intense narrative. Diljit and Sonam Bajwa also add warmth to the film with their chemistry.
Ahaan Shetty Performs well but doesn’t make as strong an impact as others. Medha Rana Makes an impact despite limited screen time Anya SinghEven in a small role, he leaves a positive impression.
Special mention is made of Mona SinghWho appears in a brief but powerful role. She symbolizes the strength of Indian mothers and wives who send their loved ones to the border to protect the country.
What is special in the movie?
The film achieves emotional depth by focusing on the people on the front lines, civilians, and families affected by the war. The first part establishes the story and characters, while the second part moves towards the heroic and historic victory against Pakistan.
Anurag Singh not only depicts the bravery of the soldiers on the battlefield but also the suppressed emotions of them and their families, the worries they endure and the resilience of those waiting to come back home. what did not work?
The battle and action sequences are entertaining and well executed, maintaining tension throughout. However, some parts feel stretched and a bit overdramatic. Some VFX moments appear excessive, and the cinematography doesn’t always elevate the story.
The inclusion of Sandesh Aate Hai as a dance sequence right before a tense moment seems a bit strange and unrealistic – but then again, when has that ever stopped Bollywood?
The entire 199 minute runtime, especially the end, doesn’t manage to hold attention.

Border 2 is a well-crafted patriotic film and is worth watching, focusing on emotions, spectacle and heroic action. Despite some flaws, barring a few uneven moments, strong performances, effective dialogue and emotional weight keep the film gripping.
