New Delhi: Musician Palash Muchhal is embroiled in yet another controversy after Sangli-based Vidyaan Mane, who claims to be a close associate of the Mandhana family, made serious allegations against him.
Smriti Mandhana’s childhood friend’s allegation
Mane, 34, has claimed that he is a childhood friend of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and was introduced to Muchhal through her family. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Mane alleged that Muchhal was caught with another woman during wedding-related ceremonies in November 2025.

Mane alleged, “I was at the wedding ceremony (November 23, 2025) when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. The scene was horrifying, he was beaten up by Indian women cricketers. The entire family is Chindi thieves. I thought he would get married and settle down in Sangli, but it had a completely opposite effect on me.”

Claim of financial exploitation in film project
Mane further alleged that he invested more than Rs 40 lakh in an unreleased film involving Muchhal and his family. According to him, he was later pressured to invest additional funds to ensure the release of the film.
“When I met his mother (Amita Muchhal) last month, she said that the budget to release the film has now increased to Rs 1.5 crore.
He asked me to invest Rs 10 lakh more, otherwise I would not get any money back. They started blackmailing me and threatened to throw me out of the film, thus forcing me to file a complaint,” he said.
According to Mane, all communication with the Muchhal family stopped after the marriage was cancelled.
He alleged, “After the wedding was cancelled, the family stopped me from everywhere. I came to know that other artistes of the film also did not get paid what they should have got. I had heard about looting from producers by directors in the film industry, but this is complete theft.”
Mane also claimed that he has been receiving threats and that there has been no progress on the project despite the film being ready for release.
Palash Muchhal replied
Responding to the allegations, Palash Muchhal released a statement on Instagram, strongly denying all the claims.
“In light of the allegations made by Sangli-based Vidyaan Mane on social media, I wish to say that these claims against me are completely baseless and factually incorrect. They are made with malicious intent to tarnish my reputation. And they will not go. My lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is exploring all legal avenues, and this matter will be dealt with strictly through appropriate legal channels,” the statement said.
The wedding was officially cancelled.
Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana’s wedding, which was initially scheduled to take place on November 23, 2025, was first postponed due to health emergencies in both the families and later permanently canceled in December 2025.
Amid widespread speculation, both parties issued statements confirming that the wedding would not take place. Smriti Mandhana clarified in her statement that the wedding has been canceled and she has requested privacy during this difficult period.
