Arijit Singh Retirement: The popular Indian playback singer shocked his fans by announcing his retirement plans on social media. He wrote, Arijit expressed gratitude for the love he has received over the years. In his post on his Instagram handle, he wrote, “Hello, Happy New Year to everyone. I would like to thank you all for loving me so much as a listener for so many years. I am happy to announce that I will not be taking up any new assignments as a playback singer from now on. I am calling it quits. It was a wonderful journey.”
The announcement came as a shock to his fans across the country. Soon after making the announcement, Arijit Singh clarified his decision through a series of other tweets explaining his decision, TOI reported.

“There is not one reason behind it, there are many reasons and I have been trying to do this for a long time. One of the reasons was simple, I get bored very quickly, which is why I keep changing arrangements of the same songs and presenting them on stage.
So here’s the thing, I got bored. I need to do some more music for a living. She also said she is excited to hear new voices, saying, “The other reason is I’m excited to hear a singer come in and give me real inspiration.”
Back to roots: ‘I want to start over.’ “I am going to go back to Indian classical music. I want to go back to making music. I want to start again. God has been really kind to me. I am a fan of good music and will learn more as a younger artist in the future and work more on my own.”
he adds, “I still have some pending commitments to fulfill, will fulfill them. So you may get some releases this year. Let me make it clear that I will not stop making music.” He said, putting an end to the speculations.
Who is Arijit Singh?
Arijit started his career by participating In the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005. She made her Bollywood film debut in 2011 with the song Phir Mohabbat (Murder 2). He gained widespread recognition in 2013 with the release of “Tum Hi Ho” from Aashiqui 2, which earned him his first Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer. Known for his mesmerizing voice, Singh’s songs have resonated with audiences across all age groups.

The new lyrics are written by Manoj Muntashir Shukla, while the original lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar. Roopkumar Rathod, Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra and Diljit Dosanjh have lent their voices in the song.
