Shukra Pradosh Vrat 2026: Pradosh Vrat is considered one of the most sacred fasts in Hindu religion. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is celebrated on Trayodashi Tithi, the 13th day of both Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha. When Pradosh Vrat falls on Friday then it is called Shukra Pradosh Vrat.

According to Drik Panchang, Shukra Pradosh Vrat will be observed during Shukla Paksha of Magha month in 2026. This year Pradosh Vrat is on Friday, 30 January 2026.

Trayodashi date starts: January 30, 2026 – 11:09 am

Trayodashi date ends: January 31, 2026 – 08:25 am

Pradosh Puja Muhurat: 06:00 PM to 08:38 PM

Timings of Day Pradosh: 06:00 PM to 08:38 PM

Shukra Pradosh Vrat 2026: Importance

According to Drik Panchang, it is believed that on the day of Pradosh Vrat, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are extremely happy and generous. The word Pradosh means early evening, which is considered the most auspicious time for worship.

Anyone can observe Pradosh Vrat, irrespective of age or gender. As mentioned in Skanda Purana, there are two ways to observe this fast:

Partial fast, which can be broken at night

A strict Pradosh fast, observed throughout the day and broken the next day

On this auspicious day, some devotees also worship the Nataraja form of Lord Shiva.

It is believed that devotees who observe Shukra Pradosh Vrat with true devotion and dedication are blessed with happiness, success, prosperity and fulfillment of desires. It is believed that unmarried women who worship Goddess Parvati and offer makeup to her are blessed with a suitable life partner.

Shukra Pradosh Vrat 2026: Puja Rituals

According to Drik Panchang,

Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath.

Place an idol or picture of Shiva family in the worship area.

Light a lamp of sesame oil or desi ghee and offer white sweets, white and red flowers.

Recite Pradosh Vrat Katha and perform Aarti of Lord Shiva.

Go to any Shiva temple and anoint the Shivalinga with Panchamrit.

Chant “Om Namah Shivay” during Abhishek.

On the day of Pradosh, devotees should chant “Om Namah Shivay” and Mahamrityunjaya Mantra 108 times.

After offering Bhog Prasad to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, devotees who are unable to keep the strict fast can break it with satvik food at night.
