‘You have to immerse yourself completely’

Reflecting on her experience of working in different industries, Priyanka said, “I think the culture of filmmaking in Hollywood is very different than the way we work in India, and you have to get your head around it. So I can divide my brain into two. I don’t think there’s a world in which you come away with a lesson from there, from here, or vice versa. I think you have to immerse yourself in it…”

He said that an actor’s journey is guided by the director’s vision regardless of geography. “And I believe that, anyway, an actor’s journey is through a director’s vision, whether it’s Ilya in Heads of State or whatever work I’ve done abroad, all the filmmakers in Hindi cinema or television cinema. I think you just have to go to the set of every film, you know, the originality of whatever you’re going to get from the set. But I’m very happy to be back and, you know, making this film in India, because if there’s any other way to be back in India. Well, because if there was any other way to get back into Indian cinema, this was it,” he said.
