It is often said that cinema is only for entertainment, but films like ‘Vadh 2’ have proved that cinema can also make you think deeply. Directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, the film is a classic example of a ‘slow-burn’ thriller that weaves a deeply moving story of mature love and ‘fruits of one’s actions’. True love does not depend on physical attraction, it can be spiritual and deep. The film ‘Wadh 2’ directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu presents this idea in a horror thriller. This movie not only entertains you, but also forces you to think that what a man sows, he must reap in this life.
Story: A complicated web of love and morality
The story of ‘Vadh 2’ is completely different and fresh from the previous part. The film revolves around a prison guard Shambhunath Mishra (Sanjay Mishra), who is struggling with his financial hardships. He is also forced to steal vegetables from the prison to repay the loan taken for his son’s study abroad.

It is in this prison that he comes in contact with Manju (Neena Gupta), who has been serving a sentence for the past 28 years for a crime she did not commit. A ‘platonic’ (beyond the senses) love grows between these two which is very deep and intense even without meeting or touching. The story takes a twist with the entry of Jail Superintendent Prakash Singh (Kumud Mishra), who is known for his honesty. After this, the game that starts inside the prison makes the film a layered thriller.

Acting: When experienced actors take command
When you have great actors like Sanjay Mishra, Neena Gupta and Kumud Mishra on screen, you can expect a different level of acting.
Sanjay Mishra: He has won hearts with his ordinariness as a helpless father and a lover. His slow intensity is the biggest attraction of the film.
Neena Gupta: As Manju, Neena Gupta speaks with her eyes and silence what words cannot. His acting lends emotional depth to the film.
Kumud Mishra and others: Kumud Mishra has done an excellent job as an honest officer. While actors like Shilpa Shukla, Amit K Singh, Akshay Dogra and Yogita Bihani have also done full justice with their small but important roles.
Directing and Writing: Not a ‘spectacle’, the story is the real hero
Director Jaspal Singh Sandhu has proved that you don’t need stars with six-pack abs or heavy VFX to make a good film. The screenplay of ‘Vadh 2′ does not slacken anywhere. The film focuses on ’emotional conflict’ rather than ‘action’. The strongest aspect of the film is its message – “As you sow, so shall you reap.” It is a combination of thriller and love story that keeps you on the edge of your seat till the end.
Strong points of the film
Mature Love Story: Love has no age and this movie proudly shows it.
Thriller Elements: The film is like a complex moral maze, where the line between right and wrong is very blurred.
The beauty of simplicity: Characters who look and act like normal people connect the audience with them.
