The trailer starts with Varalakshmi waiting at the police station. We came to know that his daughter Saraswati has gone missing. We hear the actress saying, “I dropped him to school myself, but when I went to pick him up, they said he was not there.”
Meanwhile, Priyamani and Kishore also find themselves in the same dilemma. Priyamani asks the school watchman that her child has not come yet. The watchman replies that everyone has left and there is no one in the school. We then see both Priyamani and Kishore searching for their child inside the school.
The police soon swung into action and started questioning, while Varalakshmi says that her daughter will not go anywhere without informing them. Without proof, Varalakshmi seems helpless. We then see Varalakshmi, after several anxious moments, reach out to Prakash Raj, who plays the role of lawyer Ramanujam in the film. Initially she was reluctant to take his case as there was no evidence or proof, but we saw him accepting her and appearing in court on her behalf. We realize that a crime has been committed and that Varalakshmi will not get justice even after a long legal battle. The trailer ends with Varalakshmi buying a gun and learning how to use it. She says, “Not every woman will be Saraswati. If need be, she will also become Kali.”
Varalakshmi herself is producing this film along with her sister Pooja under the banner of Dosa Diaries.
Apart from Varalaxmi herself, the film also stars actors Prakash Raj, Priya Mani, Radhika Sarathkumar and Naveen Chandra.
‘Saraswati’ also boasts of an excellent technical team. The film features music by Thaman, a top music director from the Tamil and Telugu film industry.
The cinematography of the film is handled by Edwin Sakay, while the editing of the film is done by Venkat Rajen. The art direction is by Sudhir and the choreography is by Brinda.
