2026 The BAFTA Awards turned into a glittering celebration of cinema with major wins and thunderous applause at the 79th edition of the British Academy Film Awards held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday. One of the biggest highlights of the night, the battle after battle emerged as the clear leader, dominating the evening and leading the way as the ceremony’s most famous winner.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another brought Sean Penn six awards, including Best Film, Director, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Editing and Supporting Actor. Ryan Coogler’s The Sinners followed, taking home three awards (Original Screenplay, Original Score, Supporting Actress), while Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein took home three of its wins in the craft categories.
