Aspirant Season 3 Review | When old dreams collide by becoming part of the ‘system’; Was this trip to Naveen Kasturia a success?

After two successful seasons, TVF’s Abhishee was renewed for a third season. Directed by Deepesh Sumitra Jagdish, Aspirants 3 is finally here. In this series running on Amazon Prime Video, there is a strong professional rivalry between Abhilash Sharma and Sandeep Bhaiya. Are you excited to see it? Read our full review based on episode two of Aspirants 3 here.

Story: When the dream becomes reality and collides with the system

Life in the previous seasons of ‘Abhilashi’ was one of uncertainty, where the characters were seen borrowing notes in cramped rooms and struggling for UPSC. But the story takes a twist in Season 3. Now these characters are not candidates standing outside the system, but officials running the system. The main story revolves around Abhilash Sharma (Naveen Kasturia), the DM of Rampur. A fierce professional clash ensues between Abhilash and Sambhal’s DM Pawan Kumar (Jatin Goswami) over the ‘Educational Town’ project. It is not just an administrative disagreement, but gradually turns into a serious personal war, which calls even old friendships into question.

Old friendships, new enemies

The third season revolves around Abhilash Sharma (Naveen Kasturia), who is now working as the District Magistrate (DM) of Rampur. Trouble begins when a proposed ‘educational town’ project becomes the center of professional conflict between Abhilash and Sambhal’s DM Pawan Kumar (Jatin Goswami). What begins as an administrative disagreement slowly escalates into a serious conflict – affecting not only their current positions, but also their past relationships. The story progresses in a ‘non-linear’ style; It moves between past moments of their lives and current events, and slowly reveals the secret of how their rivalry began. Amid this tension, we also see the familiar faces of Abhilash’s old friends—Guri (Shivankit Singh Parihar) and SK (Abhilash Thaplial)—whose presence repeatedly reminds us of the carefree camaraderie that once characterized the group. Also, there are some other important twists in the story—as Sharma’s work is being investigated, and Sandeep Bhaiya makes sure that Sharma is punished for his actions. Power, privilege and changing ideals

What this season tries to explore is the distance between youth ideals and the compromises that often come with power. Previous seasons were based on hard work and hope. This season highlights what happens after that goal is achieved. Some moments handle this theme well, especially when the story allows the characters to quietly think about their decisions. At the same time, there is a lot of emphasis on debate and conflict in the writing to move the story forward on some occasions. The result is that this season feels more dramatic than previous chapters. The emotional truth of the characters is still there, but it’s less obvious than before. The season also spends time exploring the role of privilege in shaping opportunity, as evident in Abhilash and Pawan’s rivalry.

The acting strengthens the story.

The strongest aspect of this series is its acting. Naveen Kasturia plays Abhilash as a man who has achieved what he once dreamed of, but now faces questions from many sides. There is a kind of poise in his acting which suits the character’s current situation perfectly. Jatin Goswami has given a brilliant performance as Pawan Kumar. The series also shows that while Pawan sticks to his ideals, he also has some flaws, and this makes his character more realistic. Sunny Hinduja playing the role of Sandeep Bhaiya has once again made his strong presence felt in the story, even though his role is small.

Aspirants 3 review: What’s good

Aspirants 3’s biggest strengths are its engaging storyline and fast pace. The story wastes no time in setting up the main conflict. This soon draws you into a battle between reputation and ambition. Moreover, the juxtaposition of Mukherjee Nagar’s nostalgia and today’s administrative tension is striking. This gives the series emotional depth as well as narrative momentum. Many scenes in the series are made with so much suspense and unexpected twists that the audience is unable to move from their seats. Apart from this, the music of the show is also very relaxing.

Aspirants 3 review: What’s not good

Despite this, the third season of Around is not without flaws. Abhilash and Deepa’s romantic track seems a bit rushed, making it difficult to fully immerse yourself in their relationship. And while the story remains interesting, the overall structure feels a little familiar. This web show follows a pattern that older viewers around can easily recognize. It doesn’t always offer something completely new.

Ambitious 3 review: performance

Talking about the performance of the star cast, they have done a tremendous job. Naveen Kasturia is seen in the character of Abhilash Sharma. The actors play the development of their characters with passion and take the story forward with surprising twists. Sunny Hinduja brings seriousness and emotional poise to the character of Sandeep Bhaiya. They add strong dramatic energy to the story’s conflict. As for Namitha Dubey, she adds emotional depth to the story. On the other hand, Abhilash Thapliyal and Shivankeet Singh Parihar add warmth and humor to the story, balancing the tense atmosphere of the story.

Candidate 3 review: final decision

Despite the story of Aspirants 3 being a bit predictable and the romantic sub-plot being dealt with a bit hastily, the series keeps the audience engaged. The series stands out in many ways, thanks to its central conflict, fast pace and strong performances. It offers a balanced mix of nostalgia, high-stakes drama from the managerial world, competition and character development. If you are a big fan of Aspirants, this series is definitely worth a watch for you!
