Now, the prospect of her being gone forever is reportedly making her father, Jon Voight, deeply emotional. According to reports, Jon Voight is struggling to accept the idea of Angelina moving and is urging her to meet with him before making the big move.
Jon Voight gets worried
According to In Touch, Jon Voight is having a hard time dealing with reports that his daughter Angelina is planning to leave Los Angeles, a move that could further complicate their long-broken relationship.
The 87-year-old actor fears he may never see his daughter again after leaving Los Angeles.
The insider said, “It’s taking a toll on him. Now, he’s begging Angie to at least see him one last time before he leaves town.”
The father-daughter duo’s already strained relationship is believed to have worsened in 2024 after Jon Voight commented on Angelina’s bitter divorce battle with Brad Pitt.
The insider said, “John and Angelina barely speak to each other or see each other these days. But it’s not for lack of effort on his part. He still checks birthday and holiday messages, asks about the kids and prays that one day they’ll be able to put aside their differences and spend quality time together. He misses Angie desperately. John realizes that Angie is ready to start over. But his step still makes him feel a little cold.”
Angelina sparked rumors that she was considering leaving LA after an August 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, in which the actor said he was only there “because I have to be here after the divorce.”
Angelina and Brad Pitt filed for divorce in September 2016 after two years of marriage. Together, they have six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 20, Shiloh, 19, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17.
Angelina said she is ready to live abroad when her twins turn 18. He will turn 18 on July 12 this year. At the time, Angelina said, “When your family grows up, you want them to have privacy, peace, security. I have a home now to raise my children, but sometimes it can be spacey… The humanity I found around the world is not what I grew up with here. I’ll spend a lot of time in Cambodia. I’ll spend time visiting my family members, no matter where they are in the world.”
In fact, the Oscar-winning actor has officially listed his California compound for $29.85 million, which was previously owned by filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille owned it.

Angelina’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, divorced the great actor citing adultery when she was just a child. Marchelin died in 2017 at the age of 56, nearly a decade after being diagnosed with breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
