New Delhi: In a heartbreaking development, actor Johnny Wactor, best known for playing Brando Corbin on ABC’s ‘General Hospital,’ has tragically died at the age of 37.
Deadline confirmed that the incident occurred on Saturday morning, when three suspects attempted to steal the catalytic converter from Vactor’s vehicle.
According to a law enforcement source, when Vactor confronted the thieves, the suspects shot him and then fled the scene.
Vactor was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. The suspects responsible for this heinous act are still at large, and investigations are ongoing.
Speaking to TMZ, Vactor’s mother expressed her grief over her son’s death, saying, “Johnny was an amazing person and talented actor. He had so much to offer the world, and this senseless act of violence took him from us too soon.”
Johnny Wactor’s career spans both television and film. His role as Brando Corbin on ‘General Hospital’ from 2020 to 2022 earned him a loyal fan base. Initially presumed dead, the character made a dramatic entry as the son of Gladys Corbin (played by Bonnie Burroughs).
Brando’s story included a touching marriage to Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) and a tragic ending that mirrored the untimely death of Wächter himself.
Apart from ‘General Hospital’, Vactor’s versatile acting skills were showcased in various television series. Her credits include ‘Army Wives’ (2007), ‘Siberia’ (2013), ‘Agent X’ (2015) and more recent shows like ‘Station 19’ (2023) and ‘Barbie Rehab’ (2023).
His talents were not just limited to the small screen; Waxhaw also played key roles in films such as “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage” (2016) alongside Nicolas Cage and Tom Sizemore, as well as other projects such as “Sisters of the Groom” and “Cold Soldiers.”
His latest movie ‘Dead Talk Tales: Volume I’ released this year saw him play the role of Marcus which was loved by his fans.
