Mumbai: Shweta Bachchan Nanda has dismissed rumours of her daughter Navya Naveli making her Bollywood debut.
These rumours gained momentum after Navya Naveli’s brother Agastya Nanda made his debut in ‘The Archies’, but Shweta denied that Navya has no intention of joining the film industry. Both Navya Naveli and Agastya Nanda are grandchildren of Amitabh Bachchan and great-grandchildren of Raj Kapoor.
Shweta was representing Navya Naveli at an event organised for podcasters in Mumbai. She said, “I am here to represent my daughter and I am very excited for her and proud of her. I am thrilled to be here to receive the award on her behalf.” Navya Naveli runs the ‘What the Hell Navya’ podcast.
Talking about her daughter’s talent as a podcaster, Shweta stressed, ‘I think it’s amazing, it’s a great way to reach out to people. You can take it with you wherever you go, you can listen to it on the train or bus. I think it’s a great and wonderful medium to reach out to people.’
When Navya Naveli was asked about her entry into Bollywood, her mother insisted on it. She said, “I think you are well aware of Navya’s work and she has a lot of work. I don’t think Bollywood is the right path for her.”
