Nikitin Dheer, who received a lot of praise for his role of Thangabali in Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Chandigarh’.hennai expressIn a recent interview he spoke about his experience of working with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in the film. Siddharth KannanNikitin spoke about how Shah Rukh Khan made him feel comfortable on the sets and how he didn’t carry the burden of a superstar. Recalling his experience of shooting on the first day, Nikitin told Siddharth Kannan, “On the first day, I was quite shocked because I was a stranger. Deepika Padukone was there with her crew, Shah sir was there with his crew and Rohit Shetty’s set is huge. I used to sit in a corner and do my work, but Shah Rukh Khan’s generosity… instead of calling me to him, he brought his chair next to me and sat down. I will never forget that.”
Nikitin also shared a detailed description of an action scene in which Shah Rukh Khan encouraged him to perform without any hindrances. Despite having a shoulder injury, Shah Rukh Khan himself shot the action sequence, Nikitin said. In one scene, Nikitin had to hold Shah Rukh’s cheek and say, ‘Tu apne aapko bada hero samjhata hai kya?’ For the scene, Shah Rukh Khan’s advice to Nikitin was – “Do whatever you want to do, however you want to do it. The more intimidating you are, the better the scene will be.”
Nikitin also recalled his fond memories of participating in the promotion Chennai Express. This was the first time Nikitin was involved in a film’s promotion. “I was completely surprised by the audience’s reaction at the trailer launch, because I was a nobody. I was standing behind everyone because I didn’t want to block the crowd’s view, but then, Shah sir held my hand and pulled me forward. He said, ‘Out of these 1000 people, if even 20 come for your character, it’s a good thing’,” he said.
