Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan is presenting the first feature directorial film of his acting coach Vinod Rawat. AncestryWhich is going to be released on 21st June.
Hrithik announced the news by sharing the trailer of the film on his Instagram handle. Vinod has been working with Hrithik since his acclaimed 2017 film ‘Hum Saath Hain’. Qualified and worked with them super 30, Vikram Vedha, warand this year’s Warrior,
Actor Rajkumar Rao also has a small role in it. Ancestry This is Vinod’s first feature film as an actor, director, writer and producer. The film will have its South Asia premiere at the 2023 Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.
In the trailer, Vinod plays Bhuppi, a struggling actor who returns to his hometown in an attempt to get one last chance, only to discover that his father died a year ago. The film then follows Bhuppi’s journey as he tries to understand his father, the human condition, and the world around him.

Vinod got recognition from the first season of Sushmita Sen’s series ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’. AryaWhich he directed in collaboration with filmmaker Ram Madhvani. The filmmaker, an alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), told Ancestry He called it a “deeply personal” film and expressed his gratitude to Hrithik for presenting the play.
“All a budding filmmaker needs is a leap of faith and the gentle whispering of their close friends. Then to have the support of Hrithik, who I have known and admired for years, is a huge moment for me. I have been fortunate to work with him and now it is exciting to team up again in a different capacity. After a hugely successful premiere at MAMI, I am thrilled that Ancestry It will be revealed to the world eventually. I am also thankful to Rajkummar Rao, who believed in my creative vision and hence agreed to support me. Ancestry Vinod said, “It is an extremely personal film with a very special cameo, shot in my native village in Uttarakhand, that explores several sensitive themes like the father-son relationship, the challenges of migration, and an aspiring actor’s navigation through the complexities of his journey.”
Ancestry It also features non-professional actors including Vinod’s own family members. The film is co-written by Rita Heer, who also plays a lead character in the film.
Ancestry Produced by Lotus Dust Pictures and Winraw Films, the film will be released in theatres on June 21 by Shiladitya Bora’s Platoon Distribution.
