New Delhi:
Happy Father’s Day to a son’s first hero and a daughter’s first love. Fathers are our backbone. For some, they are a guardian angel. Not only in real life, but in movies too we have seen fathers go beyond their limits to make things right. Oh, and, when of the young Vikram Rathore aka Shah Rukh Khan said, “Talk to the father before touching the son“We all felt it strongly. That was a goosebumps moment, isn’t it? Over the years, Bollywood has blessed us with some of the best on-screen fathers. As we celebrate the most important man in our lives, let us take a look at the lovely on-screen fathers.
Shahrukh Khan – something happens (Netflix)
Could there be a better way to start this list? We think not. Shah Rukh Khan was the best as Rahul Khanna. His equation with his 8-year-old daughter Anjali (Sana Saeed) won millions of hearts. This Karan Johar directorial debut also starred Rani Mukerji and Kajol.
Aamir Khan – Dangal (Prime Video)
Remember when Mahavir Phogat (Aamir Khan) said, “Do our girls have any work with boys?” The film revolves around Mahavir Phogat and shows how he trained his daughters to become professional wrestlers. DangalDirected by Nitesh Tiwari, the film also featured Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.
Ty Burrell – modern Family (Hotstar)
Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) has been one of our favorite on-screen fathers. Courtesy: His attempts to bond with his three children Haley Dunphy, Luke Dunphy, and Alex Dunphy. Phil behaves like a parent but talks like a peer, a concept called “parenting.” Modern Family is an American television sitcom series that premiered in 2009. It also stars Sofia Vergara, Sarah Hyland, and Julie Bowen.
Pankaj Tripathi- gunjan saxena (Netflix)
Inspired by true events, the story of Gunjan Saxena (Janhvi Kapoor) would have been incomplete without her supportive father Anoop Saxena (Pankaj Tripathi). The film shows how Anoop Saxena gave Gunjan the wings to fly.
Irrfan Khan – English Medium (Hotstar)
Late actor Irrfan Khan’s last release talked about a precious bond between his character Champak Bansal and his daughter Tarika Bansal (Radhika Madan). The film, released in 2020, also starred Deepak Dobriyal and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles.
