A Kuchipudi Rickital discovered Krishna’s personality

When thematic dance performance is the order of the day, it was refreshed to see one based on the list of traditional performances. D. Dilip and Rasika Rajagopalan presented a Kuchipudi dance repetition organized by Sela Sudha at Rasika Ranjani Sabha in Chennai. The demonstration titled ‘Mugdha Madhavam’ included compositions dedicated to Krishna.

The dancer, in colorful costumes, began with ‘Kasturi Thilakam’, with a prayer Krishna Kernmir By Bilvangala. This was followed by Nirospata Raga Swaravali (composed by Bhagwatulu Sethrama Sharma), which was marked by energetic dance. The piece also stood for synchronized movements and sculptures.

The demonstration based on Krishna songs will be incomplete without Jaydev Ashtapadi. Here, Rasika presented an Ashtapadi, ‘Radhika Krishna Radhika Tawa Virahe Keshav’, which was choreographed by Vemapati Chinna Satyam, which was a single acting piece. She brings out the feelings of love and isolation well. The union of Jivatma and Paramatma added a philosophical slant for visualization.

Narayan Tirtha composition, ‘Govardhanagiridhara’ (resulting in a story of Indra’s wrath, and Krishna raised Govardhan Parvat to protect Gokul). It was discovered through a spontaneous flow of movements and manifestations. The interface was well executed on a brass plate between the thinkers in various beats and footwork patterns.

The choice of Atana Raga Othukadu Venkat Kavi song ‘Madura Madura Venu Gatham’, a single exploration by Dilip, birds and animals reacted to the raga from Krishna’s flute. Dileep’s agility and grace made the piece delightful.

The performance ended with Bindavan Saranga Tilana, which M. Was composed by Balamural Krishna.

The melodious voice of Aparna Keshav was supported by Karikal Venkat Subramaniam on Violin, Haribabu on Mridagam and Soumya Ramesh on Veena. Seleja conducted recurrence.
