Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is facing backlash on his alleged comments against Brahmins. His posts did not go down many, which led to police complaints against him. On Saturday, a new complaint was filed against Kashyap on his controversial racist remarks in Indore.
MG Road PS in -charge Vijay Singh Sisodia told Annie, “An complaint has been filed against film director Anup Shukla as he has hurt the social and religious sentiments of the Brahmin community and made objectionable comments. Investigation is going on.”
Advocate Ashish Rai’s lawyer has also demanded the Mumbai Police Commissioner to take action against Kashyap.
“Recently, a controversial remarks have been made about Brahmins, which comes under abusive language. There is a quotation from the Supreme Court, stating that if any person is given any material given by anyone on social media platforms, then surely an FIR should be filed and the state should be mourned in this way and we ask for action in this way.”
Amid the uproar, Kashyap issued an apology on Friday night, stating that his daughter, family, friends and colleagues were receiving rape and death threats “.
He said that his apology was not ‘taken out of reference’ not for his post but for a comment.
It was read in his apology, “This is my apology, not for my post, but a line for that one line and hate hate … so, what is said can not be taken back – and I will not take it back. But if you want to misbehave someone, then direct it to me.
“So, if this is an apology that you are looking for, it’s my apology. Brahmins, please leave women – even scriptures teach this very decency, not only Mansmriti. Decide yourself what kind of Brahmins you are.
